Special G-Spot Interlude: MTW in the studio part 2

Professional lunatic James Curcio takes over again for an episode and brings you back into the studio with MTW. This episode takes us even further out of the realm of good taste than the first, through a melange of tracks in progress, various prank phone calls, conversation outtakes, and flat out mind-fucks. Topics include independent music production techniques, catheters as tripping toys, amyl nitrate, psychological malaises of suburbia, voodoo, trickster Gods, and a lot more.

The tracks in this episode are taken from MTW’s upcoming release Nothing Is Sacred, and two tracks from Captain Zombie, another project being cultured in this dank basement. The outro track is provided by DJ Homicidal Rapist.

Check out the albums when they’re released if we don’t all OD on cough syrup and fermented yak semen, or invoke a wrathful demon that replaces all of our bodily fluids with nutella.

Special GSpot Interlude: Nothing Is Sacred – MTW in the studio

Special GSpot Interlude: Nothing Is Sacred – MTW in the studio (download)

James Curcio takes over for an episode and brings you into the studio with MTW for 30 minutes of hilarious obscenities.
MTW, Inc is a musical jihad against corporate thoughtforms. We’ll use their tools against them, and drink tequila as the old guard crumbles and topples from its own weight.
We are currently in the studio preparing a completely overwhelming sensory experience: our first album, Nothing Is Sacred. This is a taxing process that involves copious amounts of drugs and self-abuse, so bear with us and check out the album when it’s released if we don’t all OD on cough syrup and fermented yak semen, or invoke a wrathful demon that replaces all of our bodily fluids with nutella.
(Thankfully we got most of our drummer’s material before he left this Earth. RIP Thor Thorsson, you weren’t good for much else, but you sure could play them drums.)
Music in this episode by Marz233, Scott Landes, James Curcio, Iron Will. Additional music by Gordon Bash and Nate Sampsel.

The GSpot #41- Nick Belardes Part 2: The Lords of Bakerfield

The Lords of Bakersfield. Until recently, it was a little remembered local legend, of interest mostly to conspiracy theorists. But in the aftermath of Stephen Tauzer's Sept. 13 murder and the subsequent arrest of his former colleague, Chris Hillis, the legend has resurfaced. Some of the facts of the Tauzer case appear similar to aspects of the Lords legend, which goes like this: For more than a generation, Bakersfield was run by a cadre of men who led double lives. To the public these men were members of the community's most visible institutions, its justice system and the media. But in truth, according to Lords lore, these men -- a sprinkling of county executives, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, even the newspaper's publisher -- were part of a loose-knit, secretive network.

Joseph Matheny talks to author Nick Belardes, in this second part of a recent interview. They discuss the legend of the Lords of Bakersfield and Nicks novel about the subject, The Lords: Part One. Also, music by Bakersfield bands Lost Ocean and The In Denials.
