Bedtime Stories With The Antichrist -- Casting Call

We're ready to start taking submissions for episode #2. As some of you may not be familiar, I wanted to clarify some things.

For this episode, I want to take a back seat on the production of media. Most of the previous shows we've done - Bedtime Stories or Word Salad, has been about 70% music from side projects I've worked on, and 30% submitted material.

For this one I pretty much want to be the curator, and the go between for us to get it up on greylodge, which gets a tremendous amount of traffic- and more and more every day. The first Bedtime stories episode as you probably know has gotten thousands of downloads in a day on a couple occasions. If you haven't listened to it you should - it's a good show and sets the tone for the shows we'll be doing in the future.

However, I also don't want to just re-produce the same show over and over again. In terms of theme for voice overs and sketches I'm leaning towards parody, the extreme and absurd. Ideally parodies should make a point in the process of poking fun at something or casting it in an ironic light-- but if it makes me laugh like crazy and doesn't make a point, I don't give a damn. Also as a hint, I'm prone to favor fake commercials and mockumentries. (If in the process of doing a fake advertisement you backhandedly pimp something of your own in the process, all the better! Wu Tang killer bees style is encouraged.)

In terms of music submission I prefer stuff without vocals for soundtrack, beyond that I'll listen to all submissions. I will also consider stuff with vocals for the one or two spots I'll be making for just music running (debut/premieres) but for that stuff it'd best be good.

You have until this time next month to submit -- send me an email at james at joinmycult.org with a link to a posted file. If you can't post to FTP somewhere we may be able to work something out but I can't recieve huge file attachments.

Play ball.

Ouroboros 2006 Calendar

The time for the actual usefulness of this calendar has come, and a couple people have asked me what they should pick up for Christmas for people (that would have a reciprocal benefit to me. I'm not above the two-birds-with-one-stone principle.)

"The Ouroboros is a serpent with its tail in its mouth, symbolizing completion, perfection and totality, the endless round of existence. These twelve hauntingly erotic images show the death and rebirth of the year as a personal and cultural process."

This calendar includes re-worked images that will be appearing in the Fas Ferox world walkthrough, as well as some originals that have not & will not be released elsewhere.

For more images that're in this calendar & info go here.

Or if you've 'seen enough'...

Z()Z has returned.

Since March 30th 2001, memes just like you have come to know Z(enseider)Z as a Z(cluster) node they can rely on for effective, easy-to-use, low-end, high-impact deprogramming techniques. Refer to our comprehensive introductory article on Zeeconditioning at your leisure.

With projected annual servitor intake of more than $23 million by proxy, Z(enseider)Z is the world's leading producer of electronic hormones, hypno-pheromones, digitally synthesized research chemicals, and virtual reality role-playing games.

Z(enseider)Z is also a leading producer of convenience foods, including the ready-to-eat Datura flavored supplemental vitamin-bar. Concocted especially for our post-modern psyberpunk swivel-chair manticores plugged into binarual pipelines of info-tainment ecstacy with a remodeled self-image cast in static electrons type of Z(enseider)Z memes.

Production Updates

Chasing The Wish - The first comic release will be sometime between January and March. We have most of the initial pages for that span completed and are in the process of final tweaking, the variable release date is a result more of the printing end than the production end. I have posted many of these pages in web format for you to peruse-- I hope as I have discovered with PDFs this is an incentive for you to get the physical thing to hold in your hands, rather than a replacement for it. However don't look at too many of these pages if you care about spoilers. (Not that we reveal too much yet, we're too early in the plotline.)

Babalon - I re-gained access to one of my old hard drives, which contains a couple recordings of Babalon live performances, demos (released and unreleased), and jams. This'll include live versions of Descent, Orange County Spectacular, Waiting, Burn It Down, and a studio version of Save The World, as well as a jam or two.

I'm going to be re-mastering them based on the better skill(Z) and applications I've acquired in the interum. Most of these tracks are not studio releases, so they aren't as pristine as I would like, but you also get certain elements in live performances that you'll never hear. Some of us have since gone on to work on other, interesting music projects (Scott with Collide and a couple other acts, myself with Elektroworx and subQtaneous), so I think it provides some good background material... Ultimately, I want to get it out there so I can free up all these gigs of space on these hard drives!

They'll be released cheaply through lulu.com. A link will be provided here to get a copy as soon as it completed.

Elektroworx - the first album was completed a couple months ago, we've started work on a second album and are looking for a publisher/label for the first release. More information, or the band can be contactedhere as well as the elektroworx.com site.
